Men’s Sheds of WA has prepared a vaccination policy template and process document for sheds. This was prepared following legal advice to limit liability in sheds and to safeguard the wellness of shedders as much as possible. We encourage all sheds to implement a vaccine policy within their sheds.
During lock down you need to be able to keep the shed spirit alive so make sure you have the contact information for all of your shedders and consider setting up a phone-tree or buddy system or consider an online option like zoom meetings or a Facebook group to keep in touch with your shedders.
We’ve prepared some information sheets for you on setting up phone-trees or buddy systems and how to use some online options to keep in touch with your shedders:
The WA Government has launched a ‘Managing COVID-19 booklet’ to help you know what to do to keep yourself, your family and community safe.

All men’s sheds throughout WA are required to maintain contact registers to facilitate WA Health Department COVID-19 contact tracing.
To facilitate the contact register, the State Government has released a ServiceWA free app, which is a digital COVID-19 contact register system, endorsed by the Department of Health. The app also allows you to show proof of vaccination when required.
ServiceWA allows visitors to register their attendance. Data is stored securely and only accessed by Department of Health contact tracing personnel, should COVID-19 contact tracing be necessary.
You must provide an alternative paper-based contact register option for people who don’t have access to the app.
COVID Safety Plans are required to be updated where necessary and continue to be implemented.
Fact sheets translated in 60 different languages are available to help people find important information on Coronavirus health matters, travel issues and income support measures.
The Financial Counsellors’ Association of WA provide resources, tools, and counselling for people experiencing financial hardship in WA, and they have prepared some COVID-19 specific resources which can be found here.
