Help your local Men’s Shed support the wellbeing and health of men in the community
Men’s Sheds of WA is a not-for-profit organisation. We are often funded by member fees, Government grants and donations. We rely on support from sponsors, individuals and the community to give back to WA sheds and their communities .
We know there are significant personal benefits for the members of Men’s Sheds. In a recent UK study they found 25% of respondents said they have definitely saved one of their member’s lives, and a further 14% said they felt confident they have saved one of their member’s lives.
Two factors have been proven to have the highest importance in creating a longer and healthier life for men:
The challenge for our organisation is to demonstrate to people at all levels of government that Men’s Sheds (+Community Sheds) are more than woodworking , but important parts of community service delivery.
Men’s Sheds have become an integral part of many communities across Western Australia, working with local people, local Government and schools on a wide range of projects. Our role is to support all Sheds across Western Australia. As they are volunteer-led community organisations, our support is essential to ensure they are sustainable, connected and well-resourced. We do this by providing:
While we receive some of our core funding from Government, your support helps us to deliver the best possible support for many men and communities across WA.
Men’s Sheds provide a space for activity and social connectedness, a place to meet new friends and have a sense of purpose. Sheds provide opportunities for improved wellbeing and health for men as well as contributing to the greater community.
There are many ways that people, organisations and businesses can help support their local Men’s Shed.
