Insurance for your Men’s Shed

Making sure you have adequate safety rules in your Shed and that all your equipment is operating optimally is vital for a healthy Shed but it is also important that all Sheds have adequate insurance. You may require a range of insurances to protect the organisation and its volunteers. Insurance can provide a level of protection for public liability, personal accident, financial losses to committee members or officers and/or loss of income for volunteers as a result of an injury.

The price per member for the three insurance agencies for 2022 is:

• Australian Men’s Sheds Association (AMSA) – $28.00
• Jobs Australia – $35.75 + membership subscription of $2.25 per Men’s Shed Member.

2022 insurance review

Men’s Sheds of WA appointed Austral Risk Services to review and analyse the big three insurance providers for Men’s Sheds, with the goal of being better prepared for premium changes in 2022. The review has been completed and Austral has determined that there is little competition in this space.
