Speakers
Prof. Alex Haslam
A Professor of Social and Organizational Psychology and Laureate Fellow at the University of Queensland. His research focuses on the study of group and identity processes in organisational, social, and clinical contexts.
Together with colleagues, Alex has written and edited 15 books and published over 300 peer-reviewed articles on these topics.
Alex is a former Chief Editor of the European Journal of Social Psychology and currently Associate Editor of The Leadership Quarterly. In 2019 and 2020 Alex was recognised by Publons as a highly-cited cross field researcher. In 2022 he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia “for significant service to higher education, particuarly psychology, through research and mentoring”.
Prof. Kirsten Holmes
An internationally-recognised expert in the study of volunteering, particularly in events, leisure, sport and tourism contexts. Her most recent book is the Routledge Handbook of Volunteering in Events, Sport and Tourism (2021). She also has expertise in developing sustainable events and festivals and is the lead author of the Routledge textbook Events and sustainability (2015).
Kirsten has taught at universities in Australia and the UK and conducted research projects across 15 countries. She has published over 80 peer reviewed papers in leading journals including Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, Annals of Tourism Research, Tourism Management, Leisure Sciences and Voluntas.
Rob Redenbach

Rob has shared his leadership and resilience strategies with high-performing teams in 23 countries. Blending humour and hard facts, Rob’s presentations entertain and educate at the same time.
From working with Nelson Mandela’s bodyguard team in South Africa to performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland, Rob has a proven track record – on and off the speaker’s platform.
A graduate of Bond University’s Centre for Dispute Resolution, Rob has a Master of Arts (with Distinction) from Charles Sturt University and has completed Executive Education at Harvard. He is also an accredited facilitator of The Resilience Shield. Written in conjunction with the University of Western Australia, The Resilience Shield delivers cutting edge techniques to master mindset and overcome adversity.

Prof. Peter McEvoy
A professor of clinical psychology in the School of Population Health and enAble Institute, Curtin University. His research is broadly in the area of psychological and social interventions to improve well-being at both individual, group, and organisational levels. He has co-led the Men’s Shed Wellbeing Survey, which has investigated a range of organisational, leadership, and individual factors associated with positive mental health outcomes and reduced loneliness in Men’s Sheds of WA.
